A Gentle Slice of Life

Joy is a decision, a really brave one about how you are going to respond to life. Creativity feeds my soul and fills my bucket of joy.

Throughout the years I have acquired a large collection of bottle brush trees, in all shapes and sizes. They tuck into places throughout my home, adding just the right touch to my Christmas and winter vignettes.

She decided that her beloved candles needed to go for the sake of her health and all of the people that she loved living in and visiting her home.

Spring has officially arrived and I am anxious to get out into my gardens and play in the dirt, and yet, like a guest that doesn’t know when it’s time to leave, Winter lingers.

Paint by Numbers. I never really paid any attention to them. I had never painted one. No one I knew had this for a hobby, and frankly, they just weren’t anything that interested me

It wasn’t just any card. I couldn’t force myself to stuff it into a drawer, forgetting its existence.

Instead of focusing on what we don’t have in the winter, let’s look at the opportunities it affords us.

A peaceful landscape was mine to enjoy and all it took on my part was to pause long enough to take it all in.  I’m so thankful that I didn’t miss it.

When do you take down your Christmas decorations? I will begin the process of taking down all the things that scream Christmas, but my “Winter Decorations” will still be up until the end of February

It’s delivered at the door of our hearts with a gentle knock, never demanding an entrance, a gift that only we can open.
